Who Sees Us as prey? Who are we, and who are They?

Is every one awake? And  watching? For what? For, if it were possible, the head of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would not have allowed his house to be broken into! Behold now people,  the thief has already pounced,  made its move against us, energetic and intentional,  altogether malevolent,  aggressive, hostile, assembled forces have begun their final advance. Have we reckoned it so?
